So back in Sept. after my bday we got new phones. Both have full keyboards which are handy for texting. Also we have a data plan so while I'm stuck waiting for one of my new Drs. I can do stuff online. I feel kinda sick waiting to meet the Dr. I have to go thru my long complex medical history with someone new.How do I feel?:  anxious |

We had a fun weekend. Instead of going to the movies like we had planned I ended up at the ER. Nothing major just my typical dehydration downward spiral but I hadn't had one of those since the end of May.

My parents came down cause it was Dad's birthday Sunday. Mom's was the week before so she & I still plan to go make up the fun another day. We went out to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse. My dad likes that place and I needed the protein so I figured a steak would be yummy. It was and after they came to the house a bit to visit.
I'm better now but still a bit run down. I still had a low grade fever yesterday but not now. Between the doc assigned to me at the hospital & my nephrologist I have a bunch of new meds. Some only are to take as needed like when nauseated. Others I don't think I really need so I'm not taking without speaking to the Dr. more. The 2 in question are for high blood pressure & heart rate, both of which are perfectly normal right now. My heart rate goes up when I'm dehydrated & my BP was probably high from that too & from fighting off this cold or whatever caused the fever.

If you didn't read the cut here's the short version. After satellite problems last month a lightning storm today somehow burned the picture on the tv. Tint is wacky so we gotta buy a new one. It's kind of annoying but still watchable. The tv is too large to swap out with the one in the bedroom. We had actually been looking at tvs some. It would be nice to have a flat panel, widescreen to watch football this season. Our anniversary is next week (the 26th) so this will likely be our anniversary present to each other if not our birthdays as well.
Eventually I will get some pics posted from my high school reunion & our vacation to Chicago from July. I took tons of photos. No, really! I have almost a 1000 pics from the big city. I'm just really into architecture so I wanted lots of skyscrapers. I may even make a poster out of one to hang on the wall. I think I might make a picture book from one of those photo sites like I did for our wedding pics.
*Edit- After running out to get some ice cream I turn on the tv and the color is ok now. Weird! Kinda disappointing in a way cause I was looking forward to getting a new tv. hehehe :)How do I feel?:  frustrated |

I got Sims 3 & made this one family. I took some video of the baby girl's first steps. It's kinda cute so I put it on my Sims page & added music in their video maker. The mom I gave "insane" as a trait and she wears her swimsuit & sunglasses to bed and she made baby food by dumping hot dogs in the food processor!?!!?! Crazy woman. In fact that's Teri Lewis in the new icon. :)

This is a day late but I want to say "Happy Birthday!" to my best friend, my dearest love, my sweet prince, chadkin! I took him out today to Cheesecake Factory & got him a red 80GB Zune. He got cards from my parents, his mom, one of my grandmother's (the other one is probably on the way) and this will be my card to him. His sister destrie got him Star Wars Force Unleashed for the 360. We're going out to dinner with his dad Thurs night and out with his mom Sat night. We'll probably go to the movies Sat too. I want him to feel special for his birthday like he did for me last month.
So to my dear chadkin I say "Happy Birthday darling! I love you very much!"

Happy Birthday to my birthday twin, hawkward! Hope you have fun today. We may go out to dinner tonight. We went to lunch with my folks yesterday at this little German place in Sun City called Old Castle Tavern. They have good food & even something for my vegan Mom. She had some dumplings with mushrooms in gravy, red cabbage & a salad. I had a brat with sauerkraut & German potato salad. We stopped by the store for cake & got a black forest cake. Mmmmmm! Yay! :)

Todd Wilbur has written several books of recipes where he's reverse engineered various foods from restaurants or mass production. He has a site called www.topsecretrecipes.com that has many of the recipes from the books online. This week's recipe is the Twinkie! Each week a new recipe clone is posted for free but others you purchase. Some remain free including some alcohol recipes like DiSaronno Amaretto.
Along with the recipe for the Twinkie is a video on how to make it. If that doesn't interest you skip to about 3:30 on the video to see Todd open a box of Twinkies from 1995. They do *not* last forever contrary to popular belief. In fact he smashes some on the concrete! hehe It's funny to see and scary to think that some folks eat that. I might try making the clone. The guy even shows you how to make a Twinkie pan with foil instead buying a fancy pan.

This Hulk looks so much better than the 2003 Hulk. The new movie, The Incredible Hulk, stars Edward Norton as Banner, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, William Hurt as Gen Ross and Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky. There's also a cameo by Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark aka Iron Man which comes out this year as well. Just a warning, the Hulk trailer autoplays the next video immediately after. I tried to put it behind a cut but it didn't work.
There's a trailer for Iron Man here. Looks pretty awesome too.

It's time to celebrate. I went to the Dr. yesterday and since I have been hospitalized twice in the past year for dehydration and I'm tired and drained all the time he said I shouldn't work! YAY! I ran by work and gave the news so today was my last shift, a short one too, 11-3. Now I'll only have to get up early for dialysis or Dr. appts.
I plan on writing more. I also want to work on some other hobbies as well as organize the house and do some projects around here that have been delayed for a while. I may even take a class in something or join a hobby related club or volunteer so that I get out of the house on a semi-regular basis besides going to D each week. My hubby wants me to get out of the house cause he's worried if I stay home too much I'll get depressed.

So long GameStop! Now if I go in I'm just another customer. Maybe I should go in and annoy certain people sometime. Maybe crank call them asking for Wii's or something like that. hehehe I suppose I need to make some gaming icons and get rid of this GS one. I'll have plenty of time now to make icons and goof off on LJ. :)

My hubby gets off work at 6pm and always calls me when he's on his way home. I had planned on making a chicken & rice soup tonight but time kinda slipped by me and I hadn't gotten anything done when he called. Well he said that was ok cause he'd been craving chicken wings and he could stop at Beef O'Brady's for wings for dinner. He's happy cause he can sit at the bar during Happy Hour and have a beer while waiting for our order and I'm happy I don't have to cook. Yay!! It's a little yay but still yay!

There was a discussion the other day on ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) trashy_eats about Coke changing its formula and soft drinks changing their flavor. I know many have said that drinks made with sugar rather than high fructose corn syrup taste better. It's really hard to find in this country though. Supposedly Coke in Mexico uses sugar so some people order it and have it shipped here. Coke has gotten wise and I hear that you have to be careful because they are starting to use hfcs instead of sugar in some bottles now. Also during Passover you can sometimes find "kosher Coke" made with sugar in big cities with large jewish populations like New York, Miami & L.A. but it sells out fast. I don't live near any of these places so I guess I won't get to try and find out. Some claim it's more like original Coke before they made New Coke. I guess the sugared formula is more like the original than "Classic Coke."
I do have a point, I promise. :) Today I stopped by Walgreens to get a prescription filled. I was delightfully surprised to see some soda in the cold case with the following on the label: "No high fructose corn syrup" Could it be? Soda made from sugar? Yes! The flavors I saw were old fashioned root beer, strawberries and cream, vanilla cream, black cherry, and orange. There may have more but that's all I saw at this location. I'd love to see if they had a cola. The soda brand is Deefield Trading Company and the label says it's made exclusively for Walgreens. Looks like I may have to go there again to try the rest of the flavors. I had the root beer and it was wonderful! I love old fashioned root beer but this was extra sweet and tasty. It would have made a great float. It reminded me of the days as a kid when we'd go visit my grandparents in Wisconsin and went to the old A & W drive-ins and drink down root beer in a frosted mug. I look forward to trying all the flavors. I'll let you know how they are but root beer was amazing! :)

From the movie Volcano, Mike Roark (Tommy Lee Jones) asks Dr. Amy Barnes (Anne Heche) about the lake temperature changing and she said a geological event can cause that.
The Line: "What is a geological event?" He also asks at another point in the film, "What's magma?" Ok so the film has alot of bad lines. hehe
